My story

Meet Christiana!Christiana is a delicate, sweet-natured 1 year old Chihuahua mix girl with a heart full of potential. Timid by nature, she’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place — and she’s looking for a patient, compassionate adopter who can help her come out of her shell.She’s made wonderful progress in her foster home. While she’s still shy about being petted, Christiana loves to be near her person and even curls up next to her foster mom on the couch. Her trust is blossoming slowly but surely — she greets her foster with excitement and even offers gentle kisses. Once she’s picked up, she melts into cuddles and enjoys being held close.Christiana is still working on leash and potty training, so she’ll need someone willing to go at her pace and continue that journey with her. She’s never shown any signs of aggression — just fear and uncertainty — and responds well to calm, gentle encouragement.She shares a special bond with her sister, Carolina, and they would make a wonderful pair if adopted together. However, Christiana has also done beautifully with her foster mom’s Chihuahua, suggesting she may thrive in a home with another friendly dog. While she’s never been a solo pup, it’s possible she could blossom as the only dog with the right support and love.Her comfort level with children or cats is unknown, so slow, supervised introductions would be essential. She has been spayed and is current with all her vaccines.If you’re someone who finds joy in helping a scared dog find her confidence, Christiana may be your perfect match.
