Come and meet me at our adoption event at Forgotten Star Brewing, Fridley on 8/9 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm! 🐾 Meet Nero 💙 📍 Age: 2 years old ⚖️ Weight: 41 lbs 🐶 Dog Friendly: Yes – happy with or without a canine companion 🐱 Cat Friendly: Yes 👶 Kid Friendly: Unknown 🚽 Potty Trained: Yes – does great on a schedule 🏠 Crate Trained: No – prefers his freedom 🌳 Fenced Yard: Yes – physical fence required 🐾 Breed: Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler 🦴 Training: Leash trained, working recall, does well in the car Nero is a gentle, eager-to-please pup with a heart full of love and curiosity. At 2 years old, he’s the perfect mix of calm and playful — still holding onto a touch of puppy spirit, but already showing maturity and smarts. He’s a quick learner who has already mastered recall with a little positive reinforcement (treats help!), and he's thriving with guidance and patience. When Nero first arrived in foster care, he was shy and cautious. With time and encouragement, he’s blossomed into a more confident dog who’s open to new experiences and meeting new people. He rarely barks, even when the doorbell rings, and shows no signs of aggression. He’s respectful around food and toys, and shows no guarding behavior. Nero does best with a predictable routine and a calm, reassuring presence. He loves other dogs and would likely enjoy a home with canine friends or respectful children, but he’s also happy bonding one-on-one. While he doesn’t enjoy crates, he is potty trained and trustworthy in the home with structure. He does experience some separation anxiety, so a home where someone is around often or willing to help him build confidence alone would be ideal. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a sweet temperament, smarts, and soul — Nero might just be the dog for you.
