My story

Believe me when I say, Freya Belle is one of the most affectionate husky's I have ever met! She loves everything about physical touch. From getting her belly rubbed, to scratching behind her ears, to rubbing that booty -- she loves it all! Freya is so incredibly tolerant with it all, even with her feet being touched. In her eyes, all affection is good affection. She quite literally will lean her whole body into you for affection and then will flop to the floor and ask for belly rubs. Freya is this way with kids too! It's incredible how loving she it. She is every husky lover's DREAM! Watch her video and see all the reasons why this fluffy lover girl is the perfect match for you: https://youtu.be/C0YmXWlulLU?si=m4oBPLKObo0kjvLx Freya Belle is a Husky mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 75 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee age or breed. Just based off looks alone, it's pretty fair to say that she has some husky in that DNA. We'd be so happy to find adopters who have a little husky experience under their belt --- someone who gets their fun, independent spirit and is ready for a loving, adventurous companion. The level of love, affection, and admiration Freya has to offer is not only associated with adults, but it also extends towards children. Freya has been around kids ages 4 and 9. She not only immediately went up to both age groups with complete comfortability but she also was so gentle and immediately wanted to shower them with love. When she met the two 9 year old twins, she instantly walked up to them as they were sitting on the couch and was leaning all over them in the gentlest way asking them to love on her. She was trying to reach her nose up to them with all her might to give them kisses but also making sure she didn't jump or come off too strong. It was an immediate connection. When she met the 4 year old, it was even more immediate and she was even gentler with him! Freya was giving him such gentle kisses and patiently waited for him to love on her when they were both sitting on the couch. We believe Freya would make a great dog for a family with kids. Freya dog friendly and will occasionally romp around with a few dogs in the yard but for the most part, she's off doing his own thing exploring, getting loved on by her humans, or she's cooling off in the kiddie pool. If she is with a dog that is a little more on the rambunctious side and all in her face, like most Husky's, she will give them a verbal correction letting them know she's not the playful type or in the mood to play. In a home, she will do best with aloof low energy male that is generally cool, calm, and collected. She isn't the type to engage in roughhouse or constant play, making her a perfect match for a more independent easy-going male friend. If you don't have other dogs, that's fine too! Freya would also be great as your one and only furry companion in the home as well and does not need the company of another dog to feel comfortable. She's naturally a happy gal that has a smile on her face at all times. Not to worry though, Freya has has an abundance of love to give and has the personality of 3 dogs dogs combined. She has all of the qualities needed to fulfill all of your hopes and dreams for the perfect doggy companion. Freya would also do best in a kitty free home as well. She's a total head turner with brains to match. Freya is a very smart girl and loves treats! She will do anything for a treat and will sit on a dime the second that you tell her too. If you know Huskies and have experience with them, then you you they'e smart independent thinkers and that's no exception for Freya. She might pause to consider your request (and maybe throw in a theatrical sigh) but it's all apart of her charming, independent, spirit. When it comes to training, Freya thrives with patience, consistency, a good sense of humor (because she's going to make you laugh), and of course the holy grail - treats! She not picky about her treats either LOL this girl loves them all. Freya already knows how to sit, walks with no hesitation into her crate, and she is potty trained. When out on a walk, she is 90% of the time very easy to walk on a leash and walks right next to you for the most part. The other 10% is when she pulls out of excitement to go smell something or sees a friendly face. It's fairly easy to redirect her attention and to keep walking but does require a more experienced leash handler and a few leash corrections every now and then. But overall, she is a great walking companion. She would thrive in semi-active home environment that enjoys frequent outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, going to the beach or even casual play time in the yard. A family or individual who appreciates nature and is ready to explore parks, trails, or snowy landscapes would be perfect. While she loves the great outdoors and loves to explore, she is also a cuddly girly at home. If you enjoy the outdoors but also cherish time spent relaxing indoors, Freya is the perfect fit. She is the best of both worlds. She would also do best in a home with a backyard as well. A place where she can stretch her legs, check out all of her favorite sniff spots, roll around in the grass and sunbathe during those beautiful summer days. We are willing to test Freya Belle with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
