My story

** Note: Heart is currently in Toronto, waiting for his forever family. Background: Heart’s journey began with his brave mama, Heidi, who was rescued last year after being found tied to a pole—neglected and alone. Soon after arriving at our boarding house, we discovered she was pregnant. In June 2024, she gave birth to five beautiful puppies—including Heart. His mom and some of his siblings have already found their loving homes. Now, it’s finally Heart’s turn. He currently lives in a foster home with other dogs in Toronto. Personality and Socialization: Heart takes after his mom—he’s affectionate, friendly, and gentle. He loves both people and other dogs and always greets everyone with a wagging tail and his signature happy smile. He enjoys playing with his dog friends and has a calm, friendly personality with a nice, balanced energy level. However, he can also be shy and skittish in a new environment, especially if he’s the only dog and there’s a strong male presence around. Behaviour: Heart has been very well-behaved indoors. He loves being around his humans—snuggling up and just hanging out are some of his favorite things. He’s a calm and relaxed boy inside the home. Car rides make him a little nervous, as he hasn’t had much experience with them yet. Leash walking is also still new to him, and he’s slowly learning with time. A home with someone patient and experienced in leash training would be a great fit to help Heart build his confidence. Health and Diet: As a baby, Heart bravely fought and beat parvovirus. He’s now healthy and ready for his forever home. Heart is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his shots. He’s on monthly parasite prevention and eats dry kibble with no known allergies. Ideal Home: Heart is a sweet and affectionate little boy with so much love to give. He feels happiest and most at ease when he’s around other gentle, friendly dogs—so a home with a canine companion would be ideal for him. He tends to relax more in an environment with a calm, female presence rather than a strong male presence, especially when he’s the only dog. A patient adopter with experience in rescue dogs would be a wonderful match for him. Heart would also benefit from living in a home with a secure, fenced-in backyard where he can safely explore and enjoy some outdoor time. -------------------- To learn more about Heart, or to submit your application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/heart-3/
