My story

Introducing our new arrival, Alinea! Alinea is a snuggly, brave, and active puppy—she’s not afraid of anything and will even leap down steps. She gets along well with other dogs after a little introduction time to gauge her comfort level, and she is very respectful of the older shepherds. Alinea is soft and gentle with both people and dogs; she even playfully tugs on the resident dogs' tails when she wants attention.  So far, she has been a dream in the crate. After a brief five minutes of whining, Alinea sleeps soundly through the night. Since she is still young at 11 weeks, we let her out for a quick potty break early in the morning (after about five hours) and then she goes back to sleep until the family wakes up at 7 AM. She's also quiet during her daytime naps in the crate. Alinea came to us with a bunch of baby foxtails stuck in her coat, but after a bath that loosened them, we were able to remove them all. She loves being around people and seems to have felt very lonely in the shelter kennel, where she spent over 10 days all by herself. You'll know she's happy when you see her tail wagging like a helicopter! So far, Alinea hasn't been mouthy, and she is just starting to learn about toys. As those baby teeth make way for adult teeth, we expect her to need lots of chew toys to take the away the mouthiness that's on the horizon. Like a typical shepherd puppy, she loves to follow people and snuggle right next to them. Alinea adores sitting on the couch beside her person while they watch TV or relax. She also enjoys dog beds and is very curious about her surroundings, often putting her paws up to explore tabletops and other objects. She's got the concept of pottying outside as long as she's reminded to go and has had minimal accidents in the house. Her coat is plush and shiny, with a wavy stripe running down her back. Alinea was brought to the shelter as a found puppy and tested positive for drugs but has recovered easily, thanks to the prompt care provided by the shelter veterinary team. Currently, she is on antibiotics to recover from an upper respiratory infection and is receiving lots of love from her foster family, which includes shepherds, a cat, and three kids. We can't wait for you to meet this sweet little girl who's weighing in at 25 lbs.  Alinea will thrive in a forever home committed to environmental exposure to continue the excellent foundation she's receiving in her foster home, ongoing training, and structure shepherd puppies need to grow into neutral adult dogs.  Have you checked out our YouTube channel? We would greatly appreciate your support by subscribing, liking, and commenting on the videos we share of our adoptable shepherds in action. You can also follow us on Instagram,  Facebook and our newest Threads account where we post plenty of news and updates about our shepherds. As a foster-based rescue, ShepHeroes is always in need of fosters. There are many shepherds in our local shelters who require our help for a fresh start. Would you be willing to open your home and share part of your life to help these dogs find new families? You provide the love, and we will provide everything else! Saying "yes" today truly saves a life. Complete this https://www.shepheroes.org/foster-form, and we will be in touch as soon as possible. We appreciate your consideration. ##2440331##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Alinea, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
