My story

Duncan is a true survivor and very special dog! Duncan "Donut" is a brave puppy with a big heart and an even bigger spirit! 💛 He came to us after being found as a stray with a badly broken leg—an injury that had sadly gone untreated for months. At just a few months old, Duncan had already spent half his life in pain. The Humane Society of Tacoma-Pierce County didn’t have the resources to provide the care he needed, so they reached out—and we picked him right away. Unfortunately, the damage was too extensive to repair, and Duncan underwent an amputation at the knee. The good news? Duncan is now pain-free and adjusting beautifully to life on three legs! He’s already up and moving around, and it's clear that he's been adapting for some time—he’s a resilient fella who hasn’t let anything slow him down. Now, Duncan is on the road to recovery and ready to receive all the love, safety, and joy he’s always deserved. He’s a special pup who will make an incredible companion. 💙 Duncan’s Motto: “Three legs? No problem—just more room for cuddles!” While we are waiting on a DNA test to confirm Duncans impressive breeds, we believe him to be an Irish Wolfadoodle - or Woodle! He will be a tall and lanky boy, and could top out between 75-85 pounds when fully grown. With the calm and gentle spirit of the Irish Wolfhound and the intelligence and trainability of the Poodle, this dog is a lovable and endearing combination of whatever breeds he is! Duncan is Microchipped, neutered, is up to date on vaccinations and is ready to settle into his forever home now. Is Duncan your new life companion?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Duncan "Donut" the Irish Woodle!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
