My story

Meet Wicho – Your Big-Hearted Best Friend in Waiting 🐾 Wicho is a 5-year-old American Pitbull mix with a giant heart and an even bigger love for people—especially kids and babies. He’s a sweet, affectionate, and loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be where the action is. If you’re doing something, Wicho wants to be right there with you! Weighing in at around 70 lbs, Wicho could benefit from a little help shedding some extra pounds. A family who can support him with healthy food and gentle daily walks would be perfect. He has a lot of love (and energy!) to give, even if he tires out a bit quicker right now. Tug-of-war is one of his favorite games—just don’t be surprised if he wins! And when it’s time to relax, he’s all about cuddles and pets. Once you’ve made a connection with Wicho, he’ll never forget you. Wicho is neutered, fully vaccinated, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “paw.” While he’s spent most of his life outdoors and isn’t yet house-trained, he’s smart and eager to please, and with consistency and kindness, he’ll pick it up in no time. He’s not a fan of squeaky toys or loud noises, but he takes his role as a loyal protector seriously and only barks when something truly seems off. Because Wicho hasn’t had much exposure to other dogs, he struggles with social cues and doesn’t always get along with them. He’ll thrive best in a home where he’s the only dog and can enjoy one-on-one attention and training. Wicho’s ideal home would include: -A patient, loving family -A home where he can be indoors during the day and safely outside at night -No other pets -Time and commitment to work on house training and leash skills Wicho may be strong and a little clumsy at times, but he’s all heart. With the right people by his side, he’ll be the most loyal, goofy, and loving companion you could ask for. Why We’re Rehoming Wicho This decision has been incredibly hard for us. We love Wicho deeply, but unfortunately, he and our other dog don’t get along, and despite our efforts, things haven’t improved. We're concerned that the tension between them could become dangerous. We're also moving to a new home that doesn’t have the space or setup to safely keep the dogs separated. After a lot of thought, we've realized the best thing for Wicho is to find him a home where he can be the only dog, get the attention he deserves, and truly thrive. He’s a wonderful dog who just needs the right environment to shine. Wicho is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wicho, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
