My story

Moonshine has been living in a foster home, but she will be at our shelter awaiting adoption starting Friday, 6/27. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet her during open hours! Scroll through her pictures to see her cute video content! Moonshine comes to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control, where she was relinquished by her owner in late May due to landlord issues. Moonshine did live with other dogs as well as children. Moonshine is a striking girl, and so sweet, so it was no wonder that she quickly had an adoption hold placed on her by someone that met her at CACC. Sadly, Moonshine came down with an upper respiratory infection before she could be spayed and adopted through CACC. After over two weeks Moonshine was still not able to be spayed, and the adopter backed out. We were able to swoop in and bring Moonshine into our rescue! She went straight into an amazing foster home with a couple and their dog, Forrest. Moonshine loooves dogs, maybe even more than she loves people! She loves to play, play, play with dogs. Moonshine is crate trained and will settle pretty quickly during the day, and is able to sleep in her crate overnight without issue. One great thing a \bout this girl is that she loves to self-entertain: she will throw a tennis ball around the house by herself, or chew a Nylabone quietly on her bed. Her foster mom writes, "Moonshine is just a little ray of sunshine in our home! Her big blocky head is full of joy and confidence and we've loved watching her explore her happy new life. She is ready to conquer stairs, new environments, weird noises, and unfamiliar boxes with curiosity and acceptance. While she gets settled into a new routine, she greets every new experience with joy - you can tell by her giant smile and big floppy tongue. Moonshine will never turn down a wrestling match with a willing playmate, but she knows how to curl up into the cutest spotted doughnut on the couch when it's time to wind down. She's spent her days free roaming with supervision and opts to chew on a bone on her dog bed until she's sleepy enough for an afternoon nap. During our limited time together she's shown improvement in the crate, responding to her name, and becoming very efficient on her trips outside for business! With extra outside time, she won't hesitate to show you her excellent sploot on the grass. Bonus: she'll army-crawl over to you if you have belly rubs to offer." We hope you will ask about this darling girl today! Moonshine's adoption fee is $300. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Moonshine, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
