Violet

My story

Violet is an 8-month-old German Shepherd mix. She and her siblings were born on the streets of South Texas. They wondered onto a man’s property when they were about 3 months old and he kept them safe until he could find help. A few were given away and the remaining four were all female (Ruby, Lola, Mia and Violet). Violet is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and current on heartworm preventatives. She is an intelligent dog who will need patience while adjusting to a new home as she can be fearful in new surroundings. Once Violet settles in, you will find her affectionate, playful and sweet-natured. Do not let the Malinois scare you! According to her foster mom Violet is gentle, open to instruction and has calm puppy energy so a joy to be around. She is working on basic commands, socialization and is potty trained. Violet’s favorite things are dog beds & toys, especially balls. She will play quietly next to you while you watch tv or work. Violet will crate herself when asked and enjoys the safety of her crate so she will rest quietly and sleeps through the night. Violet will walk on a leash but with her reserved nature she is fearful walking on her own. Walking with an experienced dog makes her more confident and she settles in nicely. She can pancake when scared but by allowing her to go at her own pace she is learning that new can be fun. She is nervous with new dogs at first but is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the dogs in her foster home. She will need continued training and socialization with her new family to grow into her potential. Please submit your application, and a representative of Magnolia Animal Rescue will contact you.
