Sunshine the Laid Back Office Dog Sunshine’s eyes close as you pet his ears and his head. He lives for a loving connection with you. He is the epitome of laid-back. He’s a cool dude, confident, and extremely affectionate boy. This boy is an estimated 2.5 years old and about 50 lbs. He is fostered as an office dog at this time while he waits to be adopted- and he’s simply AMAZING and loved by all who meet him. Check Sunshine out here! https://youtu.be/RBCl0Q1cCWE Sunshine has not showed any aggression or defensiveness with people or other dogs while in our care. He has been completely innocent. Usually, he will meet another dog and then just go about his own business. You can see this in his videos. We think he would do well paired with a laid-back dog or he would be fine as a single dog. If you apply for him and you want us to test him with a specific personality then we can make that happen. This boy is exceptionally adoring of children. He connects with them very quickly, he is not afraid of their quick or loud movements, and he enjoys receiving pets from them. Moments after meeting some of our kids, he was laying on his back for belly rubs. Sunshine is pretty easy on leash and he gets better each day. He wants to please you so he reacts really well when you talk sweet with him and just invite him to walk with you. His tail starts to wag and he wants to follow you. We think Sunshine would be a wonderful companion for a laid-back household that is looking for an easy, quiet boy. Perhaps someone who is retired or who works from home and just wants companionship. Sunshine is not going to demand a lot of entertainment or exercise. Of course he would love to go out in a yard or go out for walks, but his need for entertainment will not be high. He’ll be easy. He has hung out in our office areas, extensively for long periods of time with no accidents at all. He is comfortable in his crate where he goes into lay down without us, even asking him to. And he is not destructive at all with anything while free roaming in our office unattended. We have observed him just napping on the floor or napping in his crate and then whenever we come back into the room, sometimes he will stand up to say hello and then go lay back down. He is low to moderate energy level, but of course he gets pep in his step when you talk to him excitedly about going outside for a walk! For bath time, Sunshine stood there like a good boy, but then of course, enjoyed hopping out of the bath when it was all done, ha! His favorite part was getting to dry off. When you look down and talk to Sunshine, his tail just wags. He loves to hear your voice. And he loves to be told that he’s a good boy. Looking for a boy who can load up into an SUV on his own? He can! He will hop up confidently to load up for a ride and then jump out when it’s time to exit. He’s pretty confident going into new places and meeting new people. We believe that Sunshine knows that he has been rescued, he comprehends it, and he’s very grateful. He is genuinely happy to be with you and serve as your companion. He might be the best dog you’ve ever had. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/685abe6d0e18f7b10f00b33e Questions? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
