My story

** If you are interested in adopting Annie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Annie! This sweet, 8-month-old Australian Shepherd mix is 26 lbs of pure love and resilience. (She will likely be around 28-30 lbs full grown. Remember this weight is her weight without a leg!) Annie came to us from a shelter in New Mexico after being found as a stray with a badly broken leg—likely the result of being hit by a car. Sadly, her leg couldn't be saved, but Annie hasn’t let that slow her down one bit. Now a proud and determined tripod, Annie is quickly mastering life on three legs and doing it with a smile on her face and a tail that never stops wagging. She's playful, happy-go-lucky, and has been charming everyone she meets (other dogs included)! Annie adores people, loves attention, and is already proving to be incredibly adaptable and eager to thrive in a loving home. She’s a true gem with the heart of a survivor—and we think her unique story makes her even more special. From Annie's foster: "This sweet girl is a gem!!! She is SO cute and sweet and playful and did I say cute??!?!?!!? She LOVES other dogs and loves to play! Her leg amputation has not slowed her down haha. She still runs and plays and walks just fine. She is a fast learner and walks great on a leash. She is almost potty trained - just needs a little work still. She has learned to sit at the door when she needs to go out! She is a happy go lucky puppy and someone will be really really lucky to have her!" We don’t know if Annie has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help her build confidence, bond with her new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and a requirement of our adoptions. Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set him up for success. Annie has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Annie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
