My story

Lenno came to us after being found by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan. What they discovered was heartbreaking—Lenno had a muzzle strapped tightly to his face and barbed wire cruelly wrapped around his tail. But even after all the pain and fear he endured, Lenno met his rescuers with kindness, trust, and hope. And that’s just who Lenno is—an unbelievably sweet soul who leans into affection like he’s been waiting his whole life for it. He gives kisses freely, rests his head in your hands, and melts into every gentle touch. He is a big guy with an even bigger heart, and all he wants is to be loved.Lenno seems comfortable around other dogs, but because every pup is different, we do require a meet-and-greet with any resident dog(s) in the home. His finder also noted that Lenno didn’t seem to mind the cats on their property, so a feline roommate may be just fine.He does show signs of separation anxiety—when left alone, he lets out a deep, mournful howl that breaks your heart a little. Lenno will need a patient and committed adopter who is home often and willing to help him feel secure and safe while he learns that being alone doesn’t mean being abandoned.Lenno has been through a lot, but he hasn’t let it harden his spirit. He’s ready to start a new chapter with someone who sees the treasure that he is.Ready to give Lenno the love he’s been waiting for? Come meet this gentle giant—you may just find your best friend.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lenno, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
