My story

Pet Location: Marcia is living in a foster home. If you`d like to schedule a time to meet her, please contact Wayside Adoptions at 816-986-4426.My Friends at Wayside say:-I’m shy at first but full of love-I’m a graduate of Wayside’s TABBY program-I am Slumber Pawty eligible!-I do well with other cats in my foster home-I love watching bird videosMy home preferences (Restrictions):-I will need a quiet home environment-I will need extra time to warm up in a home-Children in the home must be 6 and olderHi there, I’m Marcia!I’m a sweet but shy, 2-year, 3-month-old gal. I came to Wayside back in April from another shelter, and was originally part of a hoarding case. This means I lived most of my life before this point with a lot of other cats, and minimal interaction with humans. Being rescued from that situation and coming to Wayside was a huge, overwhelming change for me, and I was pretty freaked out at first.Luckily for me, I found my way into a foster home with an awesome foster family. They understood that this was all new and overwhelming for me, and they were so patient and kind. At first, all I wanted to do was hide. They gave me space so that I could learn I was safe. With time and love, I have started coming out of my shell! Now, I am starting to learn about all the good things this life has to offer, such as napping in the sun, watching birds, and even getting an occasional chin scratch. I’m still very unsure about a lot of things, and new environments in particular tend to overwhelm me, so I’ll do best if I can start out in a small area of your house while I’m getting settled in.I live with two cats in the foster home and I really just want to be best friends with them! They’re still a little unsure about me though, and will hiss if I get in their space too much. I’m respectful and listen to them, even if I just want to be friends.I’ve been through a lot in my few short years, but now that I’m learning to be brave, I’m starting to get excited to see what the rest of my life has in store. If you’re looking for a quiet companion to hang out with, I may just be the girl for you!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marcia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
