My story

Hello! I am Patches, the sweetest 1-year-old, spayed female, small-size, domestic short-haired, Dilute Calico cat you'll ever meet! I may start off on the shy side, but with a bit of patience and purrfect pets, I will show myself to be the loveliest lady of a furever home where I can enjoy life to the fullest as the only kitty of the household.  I am FIV+, which means I need to be indoors only as a solo kitty, or living with other FIV+ cats. If I sound interesting, come on down and ask for me by name! Patches ID#A965424   This cat tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).  He/she otherwise appears to be in excellent health.  Cats with FIV can usually live for many years with no medical problems.  Usually at some point however the virus will start to affect them.  The most common thing that happens is that they get sicker than a normal cat would when they get a cold or other condition.  FIV is transmitted almost exclusively via bite wounds. For this reason we recommend that this cat should be an only cat and not be allowed outdoors.  New owner should be prepared to have expenses relating to veterinary care in the future. Please ask to speak with a PHS Veterinarian to learn more about this cat and FIV.  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!
