My story

If you'd like to meet Ms. Doris, please visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment. Walk-in hours are also available if that is more convenient for you. www.ggohinc.com Ms. Doris was found on the side of the road here in New Richmond. She came in with swollen teets so it was assumed that she had some babies out there somewhere. We took her back to the location where she was found and we searched and searched but sadly, no kittens were located. In all likelihood, the kittens were kept and Ms. Doris was dumped. :( Ms. Doris (or just Doris, as we often call her) is mostly an independent cat - she likes attention, but on her terms. She can get over-stimulated and will tell you when she's had enough of your human affection so we are recommending that if there are children in the home, that they been 13+ and can interpret her signs. No toddlers! Doris is not aggressive and can be quite sweet but as stated, she has her limits. She does allow handling and being picked up. Food is her motivator! Doris does get along well with other cats and kittens but for the most part, she stays in her own space. She plays with toys and loves her treats. We have not assessed Doris with dogs so that is an unknown but with her personality, we would not recommend her going into a home with an overly friendly pup - older, calmer dogs that will pay her no mind would be best. If you have a home and lifestyle that would suit Doris, and don't want to push your narrative onto her, please come meet her. She would love a home where she can just be herself and flourish while doing so. She deserves a home of her own to just be - be Doris, that is. (Note, Doris' profile pic is from her intake - she is not confined to a kennel and roams freely in our facility.) Ms. Doris has an approx. DOB of 5/1/2024.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ms. Doris, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
