My story

Ollie is a sweet and soulful little guy with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle instinct. At around 8 years old, this Shih Tzu mix has been through a lot—but his gentle, loving nature has never wavered. Ollie came to us as a medical transfer from a shelter in North Carolina. He was suffering from severe glaucoma—one eye had ruptured and the other was dangerously bulging. Thanks to your support, Ollie received the urgent care he needed, including the removal of both eyes and thorough medical testing. Despite the challenges he's faced, Ollie is adjusting beautifully. His bloodwork initially showed some liver concerns, but after a few rounds of medication, his levels are stabilizing. He’s now fully vaccinated (Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, and Lepto), heartworm negative, and will be neutered in the coming weeks. In addition to his vision loss, Ollie also has limited hearing. While we don’t believe he is completely deaf, he definitely doesn’t hear as well as most dogs—so he’ll need a home that’s patient, understanding, and ready to help him navigate the world with touch, routine, and lots of love. Ollie would thrive in a calm household where he can enjoy his own space, soft beds, and some serious snuggle time.
