My story

. Roscoe is a 20 month old (DOB 9/30/2023), red/rust, cropped/docked Doberdude. One of his ears flops, but it just makes him that much cuter. Roscoe currently weighs in at around 80lbs but will fill out as he gets to adulthood so he may be about 90 when mature. He is everything a red male Doberman should be. He's sweet, goofy, and loves to be with his people. He loves being scratched under his chin and neck and ears rubbed, sometimes falling asleep while you are petting him. His energy level is exactly what you would expect for a 20 months old male Doberman. We have found a few good walks, some training and some playtime works well for him. He's just the right amount of playfulness and relaxation. Roscoe is house trained and crate trained. While we are gone at work he stays in his crate, he will bark/howl for a few minutes when he first goes in but then settles. Roscoe is very food motivated and smart which makes training him easier. He came to us knowing sit and give paw. We are working on other commands like down and wait. He caught on to waiting to be released before going out the door for a walk very quickly. He loves to go on walks but he is a puller so leash training will be necessary. He lived with a Doberman and a Labrador in his previous residence and got along well with them. He's met several dogs while on walks and just wants to meet them and play. We have been keeping him cool during this heat wave with the outdoor hose, he loves chasing the stream and will do it all day if you let him. He can be a bit shy at first but if you are willing to give him some time you will find him to be a typical Doberman that attaches himself to his people and is just a sweet lovable guy. Roscoe came to DAR&E through no fault of his own and deserves a loving home that will help him grow into all of his potential. Will you be that family? DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Roscoe, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
