My story

Meet Turbo, a SUPER cute neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix, currently weighing about 22 lbs! Turbo was picked up as a stray by animal control in East TN. The vet in TN aged him at about 1 year, however once he arrived in CT, his new foster mom quickly realized that he still had puppy canines ! We feel his actual age is probably closer to 5-6 months. Turbo is a sweet, friendly boy who is full of puppy energy and kisses! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. As a young, energetic herding breed, Turbo would do great in an active home and would make a wonderful running or hiking buddy! He is up for all the adventures and looking for a full time best friend! From Turbo's current foster:  "Turbo is a big kisser! He is full speed - ready to go and play like most puppies. He’s a herding breed and will nose boop you when he’s ready for some fun, but no nipping. He’s looking for an active family that can provide him a fulfilling life and mental stimulation." As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
