My story

*** LOCAL ADOPTER NEEDED (within 50 miles of Apex, NC! This dog still needs to complete her heartworm treatment at our partner vet in Apex!*** Hi everyone! My name is Fiona, and I might just be the most laid-back adult lady you’ll ever meet. I absolutely adore humans and walk like a dream on a leash. I’m both house-trained and crate-trained, and I’ll greet you with the gentlest, most loving kisses. I’m approximately 4 years old and recently raised a beautiful litter of 7 pups back in February. Thanks to some amazing rescuers at Peak, my babies and I were saved from a crowded South Carolina shelter just in time. The shelter was so full, I met my rescuer in the lobby—talk about a dramatic rescue! Since then, I’ve been spayed and had surgery to repair my torn knee (ACL and meniscus) at the end of April. I’m healing wonderfully and ready for my next chapter. I’ve also been prepped to receive heartworm treatment, so I will be all set for a healthy future. And get this, I do not counter surf and fine to not be on furniture (though you will see I love being on my foster’s porch love seat). I’ve been told I’m especially sweet with elderly folks and take treats ever so gently. While I can be selective with other dogs, I got along just fine with my foster’s cat. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who’s been through a lot and still has so much love to give—I’m your girl. Are you ready to join me on this journey of love? Let’s make forever happen.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fiona Stray, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
