My story

#A5293983 Meet Raider , a stunning 5-year-old Doberman with the breed’s classic good looks and a warm, gentle heart that he’s looking to share. Slim, but sleek and powerful, with a striking black and red coat, he keeps things extra charming with his natural floppy ears - a refreshing change of pace for the breed! Raider is incredibly smart and eager to please - he’s a total pro at sit and stay, and eagerly takes treats with the softest mouth, making him a great candidate for continued training. Though a little nervous in the shelter, his affectionate nature shines through as he leans in close for love and connection. He can pull a bit on leash and may show some reactivity to other dogs while on walks, but with slow, thoughtful introductions, he could open up to calm canine companions. Raider is the perfect match for Dobie lovers looking for a loyal, loving, and trainable best friend.   -5 year old black and red Doberman Pinscher -73 pound neutered male -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 6/8/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes and no idea why, as Raider is an absolute delight! -perfect for lovers of the breed, Raider has a Dobie's classic good looks; slim but powerful, with a sleek black and red coat -he still has his natural floppy ears, which are equal parts refreshing and charming! -incredibly intelligent and eager to please - loves to show off his strong sit and stay -totally a champ at basic commands! -loves treats, and takes them very gently - could be a wonderful motivator for additional training -a bit nervous at the shelter, but his sweet, affectionate nature still shines through - connects deeply with his people and will lean in for loving -pulls slightly on leash - could use some leash work to be his best self -not clear how he does with other dogs - can be a bit reactive with them if on leash, but that may not be the case when off leash -would benefit from slow, thoughtful intros if engaging with other pups     RAIDER’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/A9wyRUXr6   For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit @ sashaisfurreal    Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/    Use their unique ID NUMBER.
