Meet Cam! The Gentle Soul with the Sweetest Eyes! With big, soulful puppy-dog eyes that could win awards (and definitely your heart), Cam is a 3 month old Retriever/Lab mix who’s ready to trade in his tough start for a fresh, loving beginning. Cam came into the care of HSSM on June 18, 2025, after being found as a stray in Gulfport. He was dirty, exhausted, and scared, clearly searching for someone to scoop him up and offer the safety and comfort he desperately needed. Sadly, that moment didn’t come right away. But now, Cam is safe, and he’s counting on us and maybe you to help him find the forever family he’s been dreaming of. This sweet boy is shy and reserved at first. He’s still learning how to trust, so he’ll need a patient, gentle family willing to move at his pace. Loud noises and fast movements startle him (yes, even squeaky toys are a no go for Cam), and he thrives in calm, quiet environments where he can feel safe and slowly build his confidence. Once Cam feels comfortable, he truly shines. He LOVES being held and cuddled, and once in your lap, don’t be surprised if he melts right into you and dozes off for a peaceful, worry free nap. Treats aren’t really his thing! Cam’s all about those soft pets, calming words, and good energy. Cam is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, and will be neutered upon adoption if not already. If you’re someone who has a quiet home, a big heart, and the patience to let a shy pup bloom at his own pace, Cam might just be your perfect match.
