My story

Approximate Age: 2 years old Approximate Weight: 48 lbs Meet Scuba Steve! How did he get his name? Scuba Steve LOVES water! He is a lovable goofball with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This big guy has so much love to give. Whether you’re going on a walk or just lounging on the couch, Steve is always ready to be the best sidekick. 🐶 Quick Facts About Scuba Steve: •Great with people — friendly, social, and loves meeting new faces! •Loves kids — patient and gentle, he’s a sweet companion for little ones. •Dog-friendly — he enjoys playing with other dogs, especially those closer to his size. •Note: Smaller dogs can sometimes be a little intimidated by his size and enthusiasm. •”Not” crate-trained — Steve prefers being out and about. He’s not a fan of the crate and will let you know. •House-trained — he’s doing great with his potty manners! Sometimes pees out of excitement. •Very food motivated — has zero problems eating and will do just about anything for a treat. •Medium energy — enjoys playtime, walks, and rolling in the grass but is also happy to chill at home. •Affectionate — loves cuddles, belly rubs, and being part of the action. •Silly and smart — he’s got a goofy streak and picks up on routines quickly. •Still learning manners — he’s working on leash walking and not jumping when excited, but he’s eager to please and making progress. Scuba Steve would do best in a home with a big yard or space to stretch those strong legs, and with a family that will keep up his training and give him lots of love. He thoroughly enjoys the water whether it’s a splash in a kiddie pool or a dip in the lake, Steve lives up to his name! Requirements And Donations - Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS). - Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards. - Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies. - Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available. Location And Hours - Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; Saturday 11 AM-3 PM; Sunday 11 AM-1 PM. - We also host adoption events throughout our community.
