My story

Ru Paul is the winning lottery ticket of dogs. A creamy Shih Tzu cutie boy with a snaggle-toothed underbite, animè eyes, and soft round edges, his attributes line up with Mega Millions zing. He’s great with dogs, kids and comfy couches – one at a time or all at once, napping, basking, and snuggling included. Potty-trained? Yep. Also climbs the stairs despite a fierce dedication to sedentary activity. He might be vision impaired, but his mellow agility defies any sign of it. Jackpot! Keep him all to yourself or share him with friends. He’s a more-the-merrier kind of guy. Here's some notes from his foster: Ru Paul is the most snuggly dog we’ve ever met! He loves belly rubs, being touched, and big hugs. In fact, the only time we hear him vocal is when we aren’t close enough to him giving him love. Ru Paul enjoys car rides, is potty trained, doesn’t mind being picked up, and is a good eater! He doesn’t beg for food, and enjoys his meals. Because of his knees, he likes very short walks (at his pace) and sniffing around outside. He is already enjoying use of our doggie door, too! Unfortunately Ru Paul seems to not be able to hear or see very well. He bumps into the walls (very slowly) until getting his bearings straight. Once he maps out the house he will be able to navigate the house just fine! Here's some notes from Ru Paul: I got to my AirBnB today. Car ride was smooth, can you believe that the Uber driver also is my AirBnB host? Anyway, the place seems nice but I haven’t found my perfect spot to lay down yet. The couch is my favorite but I need help getting up so I have been trying out different spots where there isn’t anyone on there. I tried the shoe bin, the rug, the AirBnB host’s laptop bag, and the tile floor which I have to say is pretty nice when its warm out. They offered me a dog bed but I’m only sleeping in that one at night. They serve the same food here as Mutville (I have to tell you there are a lot of coincidences in my life right now). Pretty sure the chef is married to the AirBnB host/Uber driver. Anyway I thought they said something about me being chunky but I must have been confused because I got some chunky peanut butter later. I heard them say there were putting my meds in it but trick is on them because I didn’t taste no meds! They said I have a few more days of meds and this dumb cone but my teeth feel much better now. You would think I would hear better with it but I think my hearing isn’t what it used to be. Its pretty nice though because I don’t have to bark when someone knocks at the door! The AirBnB host also took me for a walk. I tried to explain I cant see well and have to walk a bit slower. I think they got it eventually. This place has a dog door too! Kinda cool that they knew I already knew how to use it! I have to say it is a bit quite in this house and am definitely looking to rent a place with more people or dogs cause I love being with people! I could definitely sleep on someone’s lap all day if they let me. I got some good news and some bad news. First off, I am settling in pretty well. I have to admit that my first night I was a bit stressed and decided that 3:30am would be a good time to practice my howling but by my second night I was too tired and snored happily through the night. I am still trying to find the right spot to sit though. The Airbnb owners were kind enough to take a couple pictures of me trying out a few different spots. Now here is the bad news. I think I am at fat camp! I haven’t gotten any table scraps or treats! The food they give me is great and I am proud to say I don’t beg but give a dog a bone! Not only that but yesterday they took me for three walks! Three! Can you believe that?? Granted they were really short and I loved them but man that is a lot of exercise for a couch potato like me. They said I was looking better already though so I’ll take the compliment. I still get a bit stressed when people leave me alone but I’m working on it and the Airbnb hosts are helping me with it as well. I’m done with all my meds now and I hoping to get this dumb cone off soon but please enjoy some of my glamor shots.
