My story

Tink’s story begins in the sweltering Long Island heat—rescued from an attic where she’d been quietly surviving, waiting for someone to notice her. Now, this 3 year old gentle-hearted girl is finally getting her moment in the sun—and she’s blossoming one pawstep at a time. Tink is a soft-eyed sweetheart who may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she leans in with quiet trust and love. She offers the kind of soft eye contact that makes you feel like the center of her world. With gentle encouragement, Tink warms up quickly—wiggling closer for pets and even a little playful bounce once she knows you`re her person. She has lovely leash manners (always right by your side!), and already knows how to “sit” like a pro—especially if treats are involved. She’s food-motivated, gentle, and is a pleasure to be around! Tink has already shown that she`s social with other dogs and does well with kids 10 and up. If you`re looking for a tender soul with a resilient heart, Tink is ready to show you just how brave, loving, and loyal a little terrier can be. She`s not just a rescue—she`s a reminder that even in the toughest places, hope waits quietly for a second chance. If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220#Adoptme #adoptionistheoption #takemehome #adoption #rescue #rescueismyfavoritebreed #opttoadopt #longislanddogs #longislanddogparents #adotions #dog #doggo #dogsofnewyork #newyorkcitydogs #NYCdogs #survivor #nyheatwave #rescuedog #nyadoptable #longislandanimalshelter #animalshelter #shelterdogs #shelterdog #shelterdogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest
