My story

Meet Lou! 🐶💛 Lou is a gentle, happy pup who’s the perfect blend of easygoing and affectionate. He’s got a medium energy level—enough pep to enjoy a nice trail walk or explore the yard, but calm enough to hang out and relax right by your side. Lou is a total sweetheart who loves people and seeks out affection. He enjoys treats and takes them politely, and he already knows “sit”—what a good boy! On walks, he’s easy on the leash and enjoys a laid-back pace, making him a great companion for someone who appreciates a slower stroll and plenty of snuggle breaks. Whether he’s sniffing along the trail or leaning in for pets, Lou’s mellow personality and kind heart shine through. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion who just wants to be loved, Lou might be your perfect match. 🐾❤️ As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
