My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.Alpha appreciates attention and petting but appears to be somewhat fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Alpha may be intimidated by small children, any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.A volunteer writes: Poking his head out of his den for treats, Alpha slowly walked all the way out to explain that what he really wants to do is play. Watching Alpha play is truly an event. He unselfconsciously twirls around and enthusiastically shows his belly as he waves his paws delightedly after a catnip mouse like it's the best thing in the world. His kitten-like exuberance makes me want to play all day but eventually Alpha settled in upside down against my arm. He relaxed into pets which meant tossing his mouse every five minutes instead of every five seconds. I love Alpha's unabashed long list of loves and the discernable joy he takes in each one, but I especially love to see him feel happy and comfortable enough to enjoy. Alpha was brought to us with other cats when their person was no longer able to care for them and though he's been working to make the most of his time at the Care Center, what he really wants is to meet you. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 9.53 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Alpha, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
