My story

Meet Snape! A sweet and inquisitive five-month-old Labrador Retriever/Great Dane mix currently living in Lonoke, AR, whose soft yellow coat and gentle eyes hint at the calm, curious soul within. Snape may be young, but he’s already showing the heart of a true companion! This lovable pup is a delightful mix of playful spirit and laid-back charm, often torn between chasing a ball with full puppy enthusiasm or flopping down for some well-earned snuggles. He’s done amazingly well in potty training, having had only one accident—and that was on his very first day! Snape has also quickly learned his caregiver’s routines, understanding exactly what nap time and sleep time mean, and remaining quiet during those peaceful hours, often following the lead of the older dogs around him. This bright boy has mastered the “sit” command, knows what “paw shake” means, and sometimes shows off a confident “lie down.” He's learning fetch and even brought the ball back twice—a sure sign that with continued training and patient guidance, he’ll become a loyal playmate eager to learn new games! Snape is currently working on leash training, and while it’s going a little slow for him, his calm nature and eagerness to please show that with positive reinforcement, he will thrive and enjoy walks by his new guardian’s side. Snape thrives on gentle interaction, showing friendliness to new people and a happy-go-lucky attitude with other dogs. He’s still discovering the world, and while he hasn't met any cats, his calm nature suggests he could adjust with a proper introduction. At around 65 pounds when fully grown, Snape is likely to be a large companion with an equally large heart. He enjoys chew toys, bouncing after balls, and a nightly dental bone routine that he takes quite seriously. Snape is ready to focus on the next chapter—finding a loving home to call his own! Even more heartwarming? Snape isn’t the only gem in this litter! His equally sweet and playful sibling—Smokey—is also looking for a new loving home. Snape is looking for a family that understands the joys and patience needed for raising a pup—a family that can offer positive reinforcement, fun training time, and a fenced yard where he can safely explore. Whether it’s a long walk, playtime in the grass, or just a quiet nap nearby, he’ll be the kind of companion who brings calm, joy, and a little goofiness into your days! Could Snape be the newest member of your family? Contact us at adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet them today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Snape, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
