My story

Say hello to Poindexter, a pint-sized pup with a story almost too wild to believe! This 3-year-old, 15-pound cutie has already lived a whole lifetime’s worth of adventures. Poindexter initially came from a hoarding situation where conditions were far from safe. But then his journey took an unexpected twist, he was rescued by someone who ran a wolf sanctuary. Yes, wolves. Real ones. While that was definitely a step up from where he started, it still wasn’t quite the right fit for a little guy like him. Thankfully, his rescuer reached out to us, and we were more than happy to welcome him into the safety of our care.Now, Poindexter is finally ready to settle down and live the good life he’s always deserved, preferably with a little less wilderness this time around! Poindexter is petite, playful, and just a little bit ridiculous (in the best way). One look at him and you’ll notice those enormous, expressive eyes - yes, they pop out a bit, but they’re totally fine, and he uses them to silently request treats and attention at all times. He’s currently in a foster home, and his foster has let us know he does have a bit of seperation anxiety and likes to be with his people at all times! He is able to settle down, especially when his people are near, but he would likely prefer a home where his owner isn't gone long hours. He would love a home with a yard to run around in, and ideally with another dog he can play with and that will show him the ropes a bit! He gets along great with other dogs and makes new friends, both canine and human, wherever he goes.He may have once lived with wolves, but now he’s ready to curl up on the couch with you!
