Ruby Rose, a spirited super-senior of a shih tzu, strutted into Muttville with a confident attitude and a clear preference for the finer things in life (maybe that’s how she got her name? You can tell she’d be a stunner with some ruby jewels). This little lady has a lovely sable coat and very expressive fuzzy ears that elevate even her most mundane expressions into a work of art. As you’d expect from such a classy broad, Ruby is a little selective as to what dogs she’ll allow in her company, and she likes to be approached by humans with gentle manners. Ruby Rose would like to be the queen of her own castle, and she’d love it if that castle could be with you! If you’re looking for a demure little princess to live with you, come meet Ruby Rose today! Here's some notes from her foster: Ruby Rose is a good girl. Sometimes, she barks with excitement to go outside the house to the dog run. Rudy Rose does well on leash and rides on the elevator with no problem. As well as stairs. She doesn’t not have any limitations. She “ gallups” with excitement as her initial walk and continue to look back to make sure the human is following behind and then gallup again. She doesn’t pull or tug at the leash. Ruby needs moderate exercise outdoors; especially with a backyard to run around and jump. Ruby Rose knows the command Sit. Rudy Rose is house-trained. She can be left alone for up to 8 hours in the house BUT you have to make sure Ruby Rose has used the potty before you leave for work and immediately use the potty upon your return. While you are away, Ruby Rose will be sleeping in the dog bed. We have a quiet, mellow home with just my husband and me, my 45 lb dog, and our two senior cats. Our neighborhood is peaceful with minimal foot traffic or noise. Not many visitors came during her stay, which helped her settle in. She got along well with my dog. They coexisted peacefully. Walked side by side, sniffed together, and even napped near each other. There was no resource guarding — they ate meals near each other without issue. She also did great with my brothers dog— was respectful and calm. She's fine with other dogs and people when we walk past them on the sidewalk, generally ignoring them. I took her to a fenced-in dog park today to see how she would do. She liked to sniff everything, not interacting much with the other dogs or people. She doesn't like when dogs get too close to her and she will let them know. She also has boundaries when people she doesn't know approach her to pet her. She’s a very special dog who blossoms with patience and a calm, respectful environment.
