My story

The French Mastiff LineupThese dogs will be adopted out individually.Captain:2.5 years old, male, 104 lbsKracken:2.5 years old, male, 104 lbs, left front leg amputationButtons:11 months old, male, 94 lbsWhat our friends at OHS say about us:We've been hanging out with our friends at OHS for about five months now. We came from a special rescue case, where we didn't know much about life or how to be companion dogs. The amazing staff and volunteers at OHS have spent countless hours with us; teaching us how to wear collars, how to walk on a leash, what it means to sleep in a cozy bed and what it means to be a human's best friend.Once we have a chance to get to know you, and you get to know us, we have proven to be affectionate and playful and an all-around good time. Our DNA predisposes us to being incredibly loyal to one or two people at best. This means we can sometimes come across as intimidating to people we don't know. We need a human that is able and willing to keep us safe, continue to show us the ropes and set clear expectations and boundaries so we can be our best selves.Click here to learn more about our breed. The type of home we each require:I need to go to an adult only home.I need a home without cats or other small animals.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted. No apartments or busy downtown dwellings. I must go to a home with a fenced in yard.To learn more about our specific needs, please read our What to Expect handout. Our adoption process:Because this group of dogs requires such specific and unique homes, we have created a more in-depth adoption questionnaire, which can be accessed via the "Meet Me" button at the top of the profile.Once your questionnaire is reviewed, you will receive an email with a link to schedule a phone consultation. After your phone consultation, if both parties feel the dog is a good match, your adoption counselor will schedule an in-person meet and greet. You will meet the dog with their volunteer and staff handlers. If you fall in love, we'll send you home together the very same day! Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dogue De Bordeaux, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
