My story

Sir RandallLong time, no see! I was a stray cat brought to HSHC in October 2017! I was soon adopted, and I`m not sure when or how I ended up in the Tipton County Humane Society. But on June 14, 2025, I returned to HSHC. Of course, I`ve aged a bit. I am now 13 & 1/2 years old, neutered, and my front paws are declawed. I am pretty skinny, weighing 6.5 pounds. I am mostly white with some brown tabby markings. The medical staff gave me a thorough work-up and discovered I have Hypothyroidism. This condition can be managed lifelong with a reasonably priced medication. I can live a long, healthy life with this treatment. I moved into a foster home on June 24. My fabulous foster gave the interviewer lady a detailed report on my progress. I`ve attached it here so you can get a good picture of me. Sir Randall has been doing really well! He started hyperthyroid meds the day I picked him up and has been steadily gaining weight since. He has a great appetite and doesn`t seem to be picky. He gets very excited about wet food and every kind of treat I`ve offered him. He is a rather messy boy and needs a bit of help keeping himself clean. He was covered in flea dirt and other gunk when I brought him home, but he tolerated me giving him a bath. His fur is still thin, and he tends to get litter stuck in his fur on his feet and food in the fur around his face. Once he reaches a stable, healthy weight, I hope his coat will recover, and he`ll have an easier time taking care of himself. However, he is an older cat and may need some help regardless. He has let me wash his feet, trim his back nails (he`s front declawed), and clean his face again since his initial bath without much fuss.He has been great about using the litter box. He has a lot of output right now with the quantity of food he`s consuming to put on weight and has also been having some bouts of loose stool as we figure out his medication and get him settled. Despite this, he has not had a single accident! Temperament-wise, he`s an adorable cat. He`s somewhat hesitant at first and still tends to run and hide from anything unexpected or new, but he came to trust me very quickly and will come to me when he`s feeling unsure. Though we won’t sit on my lap for long, he is very cuddly when he can sit or lie down against me. He`s a vocal fellow and will follow me around and chat when he wants attention. We have three cats and a German Shepherd, and their interactions have been minimal but

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sir Randall (in foster), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
