My story

Meet Prim! 🌸 Prim is a sweet, 6-year-old Bichon Frise weighing just 10 pounds. Recently rescued from a puppy mill, she's taking her first steps into a whole new world—and learning what love and comfort truly mean. Prim is gentle, shy, and slowly blooming in her foster home. She finds peace in cozy spots like her dog bed or a soft couch, where she can quietly observe her surroundings. Her favorite things right now? Napping, yummy treats, and spending time outdoors in a safe, fenced-in yard. Though the world still feels big and sometimes scary to her, Prim is making beautiful progress—she’s begun to show affection to her foster parents, even greeting them with a little tail wag and licking their faces (huge milestones for this brave girl!). Prim gets along well with other calm animals and currently lives peacefully with a 50-pound dog and a cat. In fact, she finds comfort in their company and would likely benefit from having a confident dog sibling in her forever home. She’s made excellent progress with her potty training and now reliably goes to the restroom outside. However, she’ll need some patience and understanding as she adjusts to a new routine in her forever home. Prim is low-energy, unsure on leash, and startles easily, so she needs a calm, quiet home with patient adopters who understand her journey and are ready to help her continue blossoming at her own pace. She’ll thrive with someone who sees the beauty in small victories—like a wagging tail, a soft nuzzle, or the first time she comes to you on her own. Prim is currently fostered in Cincinnati, OH. Her adoption fee is $450.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week.
