*Almendra is in foster in Puerto Rico, and will be flown to her new home as part of her adoption fee* Almendra was rescued from a beach in Puerto Rico just one day after giving birth to 8 puppies in the sand. Around 4 years old and in great health, this amazing girl has already been through so much—and she’s come out the other side with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines. She’s super smart, has the most soulful eyes, and loves being outdoors. She is an adventurous dog!!! She will thrive with a family that likes to be outside. Chickens remind her of her survival days as a stray seeking her next meal, so no feathered friends in her new home :). Hiking is her happy place, but she’s just as content curled up on the couch for some serious cuddle time. She’s great with other dogs and would thrive in a home that balances adventure with affection, with our without her new canine pack. Just ensure she gets those loves from the humans. :) Almendra does have something called "Florida spots" in her eyes, “Florida spots" is a term used to describe a cloudy or bluish-gray appearance in one or both eyes, often caused by long-term sun exposure. It doesn’t usually affect a dog’s quality of life and is typically just a cosmetic issue. She’s ready to leave her beach rescue days behind and find her forever family. Could that be you?
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Almendra, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
