My story

Meet sweet William! William is looking for a patient and loving owner. He appears to be one to two years old. He came to us with a number of other dogs from a hoarding situation, and he is one of the most skittish, but he is learning to open up and trust. William looks just like an Australian Terrier, but he may also be mixed with Chihuahua, Yorkie or quite a few other little small terriers. He weighs roughly 13 pounds. William is very good around farm animals. We are not sure how he is with cats, but we think that he will do ok. He does great with other dogs and very much relies on another dog to show him the ropes. We are looking for a home for him with another dog and a securely fenced in yard. He is attentive and very quick to pick up on ‘a job’ – riding on a golf cart, going on a walk, going to a given spot in a room, etc. However, there are only a few people that he lets pick him up. He allows his foster mom to pick him up, but he keeps his tail tucked and is not exactly thrilled with it. He will only come up to her when there is a leash on him. However, he loves quite a few men and seems to prefer men and enjoys following them around and getting pets from them. We think that a male owner would do best for him. He is not barky, but he will bark when he thinks something is amiss or a stranger is nearby.
