My story

Hi! My name is Luna. I'm a 1 year old teeny tiny lab/shepherd mix, weighing about 44 lbs. I was found on the streets of Houston, in really rough shape. I had bald patches all over and barely any hair left on my face. After a month at the shelter I was told that I was on the euthanasia list, just because the shelter didn't have any more space ☹️ Some volunteers came to meet me so I was very sweet and cuddly to them, hoping I could convince them that I was worth saving. And it worked! Bark About it Rescue pulled me from the shelter and my Texas foster worked hard to get my skin fully healed and treated me for heartworm. Turns out I have a BEAUTIFUL black coat with very unique white and brown markings. I'm an absolutely gorgeous girlie, especially when the sunlight reflects off my coat. Now I'm with my foster family in PA, searching for my forever home! I'm a super sweet girl and I will immediately melt into you for cuddles, even if you're a stranger that I just met. I can be a little scared and shy in new situations, but with positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement I come around quickly. I've got a puppy energy that is curious and excited to explore the world, even if it wasn't super kind to me during the first part of my life. I love to run around a yard and play with other dogs. I get overexcited when I see dogs on my walks and will sometimes bark at them, so I'm working on that and learning to be less forward with my doggy friends that I so desperately want to meet. I was an only dog at my foster home so I'm really good at self-entertaining myself and playing with my toys - the noisier the better! I am potty trained and crate trained and a really good girl in the house. I love cuddles on the couch with my humans and will follow you around like your shadow, curious to know everything that you are doing. I know that my forever family is out there somewhere, and I'm so excited to meet them! Could it be you?
