My story

*** Catya is in a foster home. ***Catya #14497: white & black spotted, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/17Cats: okay, good soloDogs: maybeChildren: calm late elementary+ BACKGROUND: Catya first came to The Rescue House with a litter of kittens; she was adopted and dearly loved by her guardian, but when an overseas move came up that would have put Catya through undue hardship, it was decided the better thing for her was to let Catya find a new home. PERSONALITY: Catya is a gentle and affectionate kitty who will always seek out a lap, whether it’s yours or an arriving guest she has just greeted upon hearing the doorbell. She’ll follow you around the house and engage you in long conversations with soft sweet meows, chatting about whatever’s on her mind. If you like to relax to music in the evening, Catya will sit on the back of the sofa and purr along (she favors new age and classical string compositions). She’s an inquisitive girl who likes to know what wonders lie behind closed doors, so don’t be surprised when you find her in a closet sound asleep on a shelf. You can pick Catya up and hold her like a baby, and when she’s had enough she’ll let you know with a gentle love bite on the wrist. Catya is more frequently a lounger, but she still has her playful moments with feather toys. She likes to nestle in amongst collected toys in their box, and rectangular objects of all kinds attract her interest: cardboard boxes, folded towels, suitcases, and the deliciously warm sunbeam coming through the window. COMPATIBILITY: Catya can live with other mellow cats but is most of all human-focused and would make an excellent solo kitty. She has occasionally met a neighbor’s small Yorkie and had no reaction, though she was previously not happy with larger barking dogs. Catya has a metal fragment in her nasal passage that would be invasive to remove and isn’t recommended; this largely doesn’t affect her, but she does sneeze more often and stress can make it flare up. She prefers a peaceful environment and thus younger children would not be a good fit; an adult home or with calm/quiet kids nearing their tweens would be best.Catya is a wonderful and charming companion! Are you ready for a lot of laptime snuggles?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Catya, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
