My story

Listen Linda knows what it’s like to be chosen—once. She was adopted from a local shelter, brought home, and made part of a family. She learned their rhythms, their routines. She had a best friend in the household dog. She thought she was home for good.But when it came time to move, they packed their things, loaded up the car… and dropped Linda off at our rescue. No warning. No explanation. They took the dog. They didn’t take her.Now this 4-year-old dilute tortie is grieving a life she thought was hers forever. Declawed on her front paws, Linda doesn’t understand why she wasn’t worth the space. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and still so full of love—but you can see the sadness in her eyes. She’s trying to be brave, but she misses her friend. She misses her person. She misses mattering.All she wants now is someone who will keep their promise. Someone who sees her as family—not furniture.Listen, Linda… your forever is still out there. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
