My story

Hi, I’m Cahlua—a 2-year-old brown merle American Pit Bull type dog with a soft heart and a love for hugs. I came to the shelter as an owner surrender after being rescued by someone kind who couldn’t afford to keep me. At first, I was scared and unsure, but with time, treats, and gentle people, I’ve come out of my shell. Now, I love being around humans, giving kisses, and being held close. I take treats gently and light up when other dogs are around, though I’ll need a meet and greet with any future doggy siblings. After nearly a month at the shelter, I’ve found my spark again—and now I’m just waiting for someone to share it with.
