Harriet is a 10-month-old, 6-pound female cat from the NYCACC shelter. Harriet LOVES people, and her eyeliner is always on point! She loves following you around the house and will groggily get up from a nap to curl around your feet while you’re trying to pee. Once, she even jumped into her foster mom’s shower (and quickly regretted it)! She’s the bravest kitten her foster mom has ever had, ready to escape the bathroom and go exploring almost immediately. Harriet might be on three legs but you’d never know it from how speedy she is, Tokyo Drifting as she chases wand toys and clambers up onto wall mounted cat shelves. She’s very playful and lets out big growls while kicking her wand toys to let you know how tough she is. Harriet lives for head and cheek skritches and is big on scent marking and brushing up against her people. She’s happy for you to scoop her up and carry her around under an arm. However, petting must be done on her terms! She can get overstimulated quickly and will let you know when she’s had enough with a big MEOW. Her ideal person will be able to set firm boundaries with her (no playing with hands!) and play regularly with wand and kicker toys to give her an outlet for her play aggression. Harriet is highly food motivated with a special fondness for Churus, and her foster mom thinks she’s pretty smart! She quickly figured out how to get her kibble out of a food puzzle. She’s a great eater, not picky at all, and she always finishes her food on time! She will even sniff your food, once sticking her whole head into a glass of milk to try to get a whiff. Harriet is very curious about the resident cat, stationing herself by the door for hours and sticking her paws under the crack to try to play. Like any cat, she needs a slow intro, but she’d likely enjoy a feline companion to wrestle with. She was unsure about the resident chihuahua mix in her prior foster home, so a small, respectful dog would be fine but have to tolerate a few slaps here and there. Harriet would be fine as a the only pet in the home, but her ideal person would then be able to regularly play with her to give her an outlet for her play aggression. Vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies. FeLV / FIV negative, neutered, and microchipped. To apply for Harriet, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2431039##
