My story

Meet Levi! He is 4 years old and weighs 13 pounds. Best guess is he is a Border Terrier mix. He is so scruffy and has unique coloring / markings. He was found as a stray with severe burns on his back, legs, and head. Thanks to lots of love and vet care, he’s healed beautifully—his hair is even growing back in many places and might eventually fill in completely. He has the best personality and is a little comedian. He loves making friends and giving kisses to his people.Levi is a sensitive, caring, and protective little guy. He’s incredibly affectionate and forms bonds quickly—he just wants to be near his person, preferably curled up on your lap or following you from room to room. His first love, however, is squeaky toys—he’ll happily toss them around, chew on them, and entertain himself. Zooming around the yard and rolling in the grass come in a close second on his list of favorite things, so a fenced yard is a big plus for him.Levi is crate trained, housebroken, walks well on a leash, and is a great little car companion. He loves any adventure, even if it's just a walk around the block. He is intimidated and overwhelmed with meeting new dogs and trying to make friends with them. He currently lives with other dogs, but it took him a lot of time to warm up. Being an only dog may be the best fit for him. He also has a prey drive, so cats or other small animals are not a good fit for him.At home, Levi is all terrier—spirited, opinionated, and protective of his people and space. He’ll bark at sounds outside, especially if he can see out a window or door. He does great meeting people in public, but can sometimes take time to feel 100% comfortable. Who can blame him after what he's been through? His ideal adopter is someone patient and understanding who can continue to help him build confidence and feel safe.Levi is ready for a forever home where he can be your best friend, be spoiled, and soak up the love he so deserves.
