My story

`Meet Rambo, a soulful, speckled 3-year-old with a heart as big as his 80-pound frame. This gentle giant came into foster care after spending his life with one family who, due to health issues, could no longer care for him. At first shy and uncertain, Rambo quickly blossomed into a devoted, affectionate companion, proving that all he needed was a little love and patience. He’s now crate- and mostly house-trained, loves car rides and morning zoomies, and has adjusted well to home life—thriving on a routine, some quiet encouragement, and a comfy spot on the couch. He knows a wide range of commands and responds best to gentle redirection and high-value treats (turkey is his favorite). And although he sometimes gets distracted, his eagerness to please and learn is obvious in everything he does.Rambo gets along well with other dogs when introduced thoughtfully and has shown sweet, calm behavior around children, even the youngest ones. He’s tolerant of handling—ears, paws, tail, and all—and is unfazed by loud noises or new environments when his humans are nearby. Though we haven’t tested him with cats, his easygoing nature suggests he may do well with them too. Rambo’s a calm boy overall, with short bursts of energy in the mornings or when he’s feeling extra playful. His favorite pastime? Following his people from room to room like a quiet shadow, then curling up nearby to keep watch. He’s the type of dog who’ll meet you at the bedside with morning kisses or sit beside you with a paw on your leg, silently offering comfort.Affectionate, loyal, and incredibly intuitive, Rambo thrives in a home that offers calm, consistency, and companionship. He’s especially attuned to human emotion—once even curling into his foster’s lap to lick away tears. While he doesn’t care much for toys, he treasures belly rubs, head scratches, and being close to the people he trusts. His ideal home could include kids, other dogs, or a peaceful solo life, as long as he gets to be near his person. Whether he’s quietly observing the world from a window, resting his paw on your arm, or giving you his signature `please love me` eyes, Rambo is the kind of dog who will quickly become your most faithful friend—and never let you forget just how much he adores you.`

If you have any questions or would like to adopt RAMBO, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
