My story

NEEDS PLACEMENT BY JUNE 20 Name: Ace (previously Oogie Boogie) Location: Lincoln, Nebraska Sex: Male Weight: 89 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Age: 2 Years Good with Men: Yes Good with Women: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Cat testing in a shelter is difficult. He walked past a cat cage and showed no interest. Walking past another time slowly, the cat swatted, provoking him, and he lunged. Likely, he could coexist with a car, but slow introductions are best. Introductions in a shelter are difficult as both cats and dogs may not thrive in a shelter environment. Children: Unknown House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Medical Issues: none Immunizations: UTD Rabies: 03/27/25 Parvo/distemper: 03/26/25 Bordatella: 03/26/25 Heartworm test: 03/26/25 Negative Fecal test: Preventatives: UTD Characteristics: is a great pup who doesn't know how big he truly is and will make a great family member with the right adopter willing to teach him manners. He is very strong and does OK with dogs but doesn't know when other dogs are done playing. Loud and vocal dogs will cause Ace to get vocal as well. He passed his behavior assessment with no problems. When walking past people he'll try to lick/nibble on their hands in a playful manner. Notes from evaluator: Upon meeting Ace he was a really friendly dog. I intentionally pulled on his ears, tail and poked at his feet to see if I received any negative reaction and I did not…not even so much as a grrr! He sat and took treats gently. I played tug of war with him and he enjoyed that. I took Daniel who is 10 yrs old and there were no issues with him. I didn’t see any negative issues at all except he does need some manners. He does jump on you and when the staff member opened the freezer to get out a kong with peanut butter he jumped right up like he owned the place. Ace does have a lot of energy especially when he first came into the room. He loved everyone and the staff member was a women so definitely good with men, women and children from what I can see. Overall I think he was a really good dog and if I wasn’t already fostering a dog, I would definitely have fostered Ace. He will need structure and guidance so he can be a good rottie citizen!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ace (prev Oogie Boogie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
