Adoption fee: $1,000 Meet Plushie – A Resilient, Wiggly Angel Looking for Her Forever Home Age: 3 years old Breed: French Bulldog Weight: ~21 lbs Medical Status: Stable with ongoing dietary needs Plushie isn’t just a dog— she’s a survivor, a sweetheart, and a little comedic genius all rolled into one snorting, wiggly Frenchie body. After months of recovery, multiple surgeries, and countless belly rubs, Plushie is finally ready to find the very special forever home she’s been waiting for. Her Medical Journey When Plushie came to us from the shelter, she immediately started having issues with eating and drinking. We rushed her to the vet where extensive tests were run and she underwent exploratory surgery. Unable to solve the mystery, DPS consulted a specialist who diagnosed her with pyloric stenosis. Plushie underwent surgery to fix this condition and then began her long healing journey. Thanks to a diligent foster and a vet-approved diet plan—including prescription food, probiotics, and medication —she’s made tremendous progress. She’s stable now, happy, and eating like a champ. Plushie will likely need to remain on a prescription diet and medication for life, but it's a small price to pay for the love she brings into a home. Daily Life & House Manners Plushie isn't a big fan of crates, but she's well behaved in the home and her fosters trust her to be out and about with her doggy foster siblings when they're gone. She’s housebroken, as long as she has structure and routine. After meals, she gets solo time in the yard for about 20 minutes, and she’s good to go. At night, she sleeps peacefully on the floor beside the bed, no accidents, no fuss. Personality & Behavior Plushie is a happy-go-lucky little character. She’s a wiggle worm who follows you from room to room, always ready to love and be loved. She’s great with other dogs—friendly, playful, and full of zoomies— but she does like to be the center of attention and will gently push her way in for cuddles (never meanly, just very Frenchie). Plushie has never met a stranger - she is the ultimate love bug. To her, more people = more cuddles and pets! Walks: Enthusiastic on leash, she may accidentally trip you if you’re not paying attention, but she’s just so excited to explore! Barking: Rare, unless she’s joining in with her foster siblings or just having an especially great time. Chewing: Doesn’t destroy things, but she will occasionally “redecorate” by moving your stuff. What She Needs Plushie’s ideal home is one that: Understands or is willing to learn about managing a special diet and meds Can be patient with her potty routine Doesn’t mind the occasional comic chaos of a Frenchie underfoot Is ready for a LOT of love, wags, wiggles, and laughs She’ll thrive with someone who sees her not as “high maintenance,” but as totally worth it— because she is. Plushie is the kind of dog who, despite everything she’s been through, wakes up every day happy, hopeful, and ready to love. A Note From Her Foster: “She is an angel. Truly. She’s come so far. She’s super loving and such a character— she makes us laugh daily. I’ve been barfed on more than I can count (prior to her surgeries), but I would do it again for this dog in a heartbeat.” If you’re ready to open your heart to a resilient, joyful Frenchie who will adore you forever—Plushie is waiting.June 23, 2025, 3:58 pm
