*ROTTWEILER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!* We are looking for an ADULT ONLY home for Maya. PLEASE READ HER ENTIRE STORY. Meet our stunning Rottie girl named Maya! Maya is about 5 years old, and she has had a tough life recently. When Maya was first surrendered to our shelter, she had been living in a car with multiple other dogs for quite some time. She and the other dog we took in were completely emaciated when we first met them, to the point where we could see all of their ribs, hip bones, and vertebrae. Since being with us, Maya has been steadily gained weight and she will need to continue gaining weight for some time. Maya is a sweet girl who loves to be rubbed down and get attention from people. She has a VERY HIGH ball drive and she is an active girl now that she is feeling better. Maya gets distracted very easily by shadows and anything flying past her such as bees, butterflies, ect. She is a smart girl who wants to please. Maya has not shown any food aggression towards our staff, but she is very drawn to her food bowl when it is time to eat. She is learning to take treats gently from a flat palm. She did live with other dogs prior to coming with us, but at this time, due to her food insecurity and high ball drive, we are looking for a home where she can be the only pet until she can decompress and these behaviors can be worked on. We are also looking for an ADULT ONLY home for Maya because of these same reasons. Maya will make a wonderful companion for the right adopter. *We are looking for a home that has Rottweiler, or similar large stubborn dog, experience.* If you are interested in adopting Maya, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! Her adoption fee is $75.00. PLEASE CHECK YOU EMAIL SPAM FOLDER! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. For more info please call 203-235-4179 (Always Leave A Message) or email adopt@savingpawsct.org
