Carrie Me Away

My story

Named in honor of the compassionate and radiant Sister Carrie, I promise you this - once you meet me, you’ll be Carrie-d Away! I’m full of love, light, and just the right amount of dramatic flair, just like my namesake. The real Sister Carrie is not only a fabulous member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, but also a beloved SF SPCA team member who helps animals (and humans) every single day. If you`re lucky, she might even help with my adoption - talk about good karma!To celebrate Pride Month, we have collaborated with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.“I’ve been a Sister for 6 years. My passion has always been working with our LGBTQ older adults, however my work is sometimes as simple as a conversation with a stranger in a bar or holding the hand of one of our city’s unhoused while they share their experience. My ministry is one of visibility. I strive to shed light on those who are most vulnerable in our community.” - Sister CarrieThe Sisters were formed in 1979 in San Francisco. Over the last 46 years they have been on the forefront of social and political activism while spreading joy everywhere they go.
