My story

Hug sweet BASIL today! This adorable guy is approximately 1 year 6 months old and weighs 20 pounds (as of June 20, 2025). We think BASIL is a loving Shih Tzu. BASIL is a total lover who likes to be with his human. He is an emotional dog who loves to be on his humans lap and get petted. We think BASIL will do best with an adopter who works from home. BASIL prefers female dogs to male dogs. We think BASIL will do best as an only dog in a home or with female dog(s). BASIL is crate trained but doesn't like the crate. BASIL is leash-trained. BASIL has not been kid tested. There are cats in the neighborhood and BASIL doesn't respond to them, but he is not in a foster with any cats. BASiL has negative 4dx and fecal tests. However, he still needs his vaccines. BASIL had cherry eyes surgery so they didn’t want to stress BASIL with vaccines concurrently. BASIL will be getting vaccinated.
