Baloo

My story

Baloo came into our care when children were added to his life, and it wasn`t a good fit for him. While he`s still a little confused about the big changes in his life, he`s settling in nicely, and getting comfortable with all the attention he receives here.He started out as a very picky eater with us, but as his stress levels are going down, his appetite is coming back. He does need to lose a little weight, so he`d like a family committed to getting him exercise, and managing his meals appropriately. While very sweet, Baloo doesn`t seem aware of his size, and needs to continue work on polite greetings, to prevent jumping when he`s scared or excited. He appears to have some insecurities, so a patient home willing to focus on building his confidence would be best.His previous owner said he gets along with other dogs, and though he hasn`t had a chance for full-on yard play yet, we has been really happy to see other dogs here, and we`ll have him playing soon. We do not know how he feels about cats. We are looking for a home without children, since he did exhibit some concerns about his food security when kids were around, and because he`s oblivious to his size.He enjoys being brushed and needs someone who will be dedicated to grooming him or getting him groomed by a professional on a regular basis.A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Baloo`s $350.00 adoption fee.
