My story

Meet Sirena! 12-year-old Sirena came to us from San Diego Humane Society. This poor girl entered the shelter with a filthy matted coat containing leaves, twigs, and feces. Initially, the shelter staff thought she didn't have a right eye, only to discover it was sealed shut! We discovered that Sirena also had a very large bladder stone, which was removed surgically on June 26th. Thankfully, Sirena is now recovering in the comfort of a home as part of a two-week Frosted Fling. Here's what we've learned about Sirena from her Fling Mom: Darling little Sirena is ready to find her soft landing. She may be a little wobbly and a little cloudy-eyed, but her heart is pure gold. 💛 Sirena has vision impairment—one eye is not visual, and the other has a cataract—but that doesn’t stop her from navigating to her bed or food with determination and grace. She might bump into a few things along the way, but she always finds her cozy spot and mealtime with no trouble. Sirena is calm, gentle, and so lovable. She moves slowly, with a bit of a weak back end, but she’s a trooper—if she slips, she pops right back up and keeps going. Sirena LOVES to eat. She takes treats gently. Eye drops are no big deal for her, and she’ll take a pill with ease when tucked in a pill pocket. At bedtime, Sirena takes a bit settle in, but once she’s down, she sleeps through the night like a champ. She’s not a fan of the crate, so she’s been doing well in a baby-gated area where she can stay safe and comfy. Sirena gets along just fine with other calm dogs—she simply toddles past them on her way to her next sunny nap. Speaking of sun… it’s her favorite thing in the world. If there’s a sunny patch outside, that’s where you’ll find her. Sirena is looking for a peaceful, patient home where she can spend her golden years being adored. If you have a heart for seniors and a soft spot for the underdog, Sirena might just be your perfect match. To meet Sirena, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sirena, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
