My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I am looking for a home with a patient person.Sassafras appreciates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.A volunteer writes: Sassafras wasn't treated kindly as he tried to find a place for himself in the stairwell of the building where he was. I'm sure he knew he wasn't wanted where he was, he just wasn't exactly sure what to do about it. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan heard about Sassafras and made quick moves to bring him here. We've since welcomed Sassafras with open arms and his confidence has blossomed as being seen and loved can certainly do that. The first time I met Sassafras he tentatively took the treats I offered, but politely shied away from pets. We understand why it took him a little bit to trust that we only have his very best intentions at heart and now Sassafras is only waiting to meet you.
