Animal Profile: Tyler is an adorable ~2 year old, 8 lb Chihuahua/Spaniel mix (best guess) who was rescued from a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, along with his buddy Tate. Both dogs were wagging their tails and accepting pets/affection in their shelter video. They arrived in Seattle on 3/16/25. Foster Update: Tyler is a happy, friendly boy who would like nothing better than to curl up in your lap. He is playful and gets along well with my resident dog. He has had a few canine visitors now, and he will share his dog bed and enjoys having a dog to play or curl up with. Tyler knows his name and sit, and we are working on him not jumping up. He is quite affectionate and eager to be with you, but we are working on him learning some boundaries. Tyler does love to show his affection in various ways, including licks and kisses when he is excited about being pet or affection. He is potty and crate trained (sleeps quietly in his crate at bedtime) but does cry a little when I leave the house and not in sight. He does settle down after about 10 minutes, but his forever home will need to be comfortable continuing to work with Tyler on his crate training and separation anxiety. Tyler loves his food, is a good eater, and he's good on a leash. Tyler would do well with another canine companion similar to his in size, and could do okay as the only dog in the right setting. Because Tyler is eager to be with his humans, he will thrive in an environment where his forever family can continue to instill some boundaries and basic obedience to help Tyler be confident on his own.
